Christopher Anderson serves as a 4-H Youth Development Specialist in the area of Animal Sciences with the Maryland 4-H Center at College Park. He joined University of Maryland Extension in April 2008. Prior to coming to Maryland he was employed for 20 years as a Youth Development Educator by University of Illinois Extension. He served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Croix-des-Bouquets, Haiti as an Agricultural Extensionist prior to joining University of Illinois Extension. He served as President of the National Association of Extension 4-H Agents (NAE4-HA) during 2003-04. Other national roles he has held include: Public Issues Leadership Development Conference Planning Committee (2007-present), National 4-H Hall of Fame Selection Committee (2007-09), National JCEP Board of Directors (2002-05), ECOP Leadership Advisory Council (2004-05), ECOP 4-H Task Force (2002-2006), National 4-H Leadership Trust (2002-04), National Conversation on Youth Development Design Team (2002), and NAE4-HA Board of Directors (2000-2005). He received the NAE4-HA Distinguished Service Award in 1999.
