BS in Ornamental Horticulture from the University of Maryland in 1986. Ria started as an hourly horticulture consultant at HGIC in 1994.
She assumed the Business Manager position at HGIC in 1997. She became a Certified Professional Horticulturist in 2006. She was promoted to Program Coordinator in January 2017.
Her horticulture background supports HGIC's online digital horticulture program. Ria led the initiative to produce how-to gardening videos and get HGIC well positioned in the social media realm. She is Project Manager for HGIC's numerous website projects.
