Students, faculty and staff with the University of Maryland College of Agriculture and Natural Resources (AGNR) will be strutting their stuff at the Maryland State Fair in Timonium from now through September 3rd! There will be plenty of opportunities during the state fair to catch us in action and learn more about what we do at AGNR:

*U-Learn Farm: Stop by and see us inside the U-Learn Farm where there will be plenty of fun, educational and hands-on activities for kids of all ages focusing on where our food comes from and what crops are grown in Maryland.

*AGNR Dairy Herd: The University of Maryland’s very own dairy herd will also be on display throughout the duration of the fair. Students from the College of AGNR as well as faculty and staff can answer questions about important research projects the dairy cows have been a part of and what it takes to keep the dairy program running. Witness a milking demonstration at various times throughout the day and help us name the herd’s newest calf!

*Master Gardeners: University of Maryland Baltimore County Master Gardeners will be showcasing some of their work at a demonstration garden near the 4-H exhibition hall and on-hand to answer questions.

*4-H Programs: The Maryland State Fair is a big time of year for the University of Maryland Extension 4-H program. 4-Hers will be showing off the conclusion of projects they’ve been working on throughout the year on everything from livestock and crops to crafts and clothing!

*AGNR Opportunities: AGNR students, faculty and staff would be more than happy to tell you all about the diversity of programs offered at the College of AGNR. All you have to do is ask!

The Maryland State Fair runs from August 24 until September 3. For a complete schedule of events, visit www.marylandstatefair.com. We hope to see you there!
